Hoosic Valley Central School District has chosen "Hawks" as its new mascot, and now the district is asking for help in several areas of the name change. A ribbon cutting was held for Birchin' Donuts, located on Lark Street in Albany.The woman-owned business has been offering plant-based doughnuts and coffee and is now serving breakfast sandwiches, salads, wraps and more. The owner's first restaurant, Birch Bark Eatery, opened in Lake George in 2018 and moved to Glens Falls a year later. Endangered person advisory: Hazelwood man missing for a week HAZELWOOD, Mo. – The Hazelwood Police Department has issued an endangered person advisory for a man who disappeared exactly one week ago.According to a statement, the incident occurred in the 1000 block of Pinecone Trail, at 9 p.m. on Aug. 8.Authorities say James Steen Jr. left his home, took cash from an ATM, and told family members that he would harm himself if located. Police cite a history of depression.Steen, 33, is described as 6’0” tall and 190 pounds, with brown hair and blues eyes.Anyone with information on Steen’s whereabouts is asked to call 911 immediately or the Hazelwood Police Department ate 314-838-5000.

Thief caught on camera nabbing wallet in grocery store Police in Irvine are searching for a man seen on surveillance cameras allegedly stealing a victim's wallet out of a bag in a shopping cart.  Footage of the July 29 incident released by the Irvine Police Department appears to show the man following the victim around the store and keeping an eye on an open bag resting in the cart.  As the victim turns away to grab something in the freezer section, the man is seen taking an item out of the bag and moving out of frame.  A suspect was caught on surveillance cameras allegedly stealing a victim's wallet from a bag in the grocery cart on July 29, 2023. 30-acre South Bay brush fire impacts traffic on US-101 (KRON) -- A brush fire burning in the South Bay Wednesday afternoon is impacting traffic, according to a 511 alert. Cal Fire's Santa Clara Unit said the fire has torched 30 acres. The fire is near northbound US-101, north of Cochrane Road in Morgan Hill. The right lane of northbound traffic is blocked.
